Our glassware is produced in collaboration with skilled artisans internationally, with select collectible works crafted by hand in Italy and New York. Where production takes place in the PRC, we are committed to working exclusively with ethically responsible manufacturing partners.
What is borosilicate glass?
Borosilicate glass is a lightweight yet durable material known for its clarity and resistance to thermal shock. Originally developed for scientific use, it allows for both delicacy and strength in everyday objects.
Are borosilicate products dishwasher safe?
Yes — all borosilicate products with the exception of Disco are dishwasher safe, though we recommend gentle hand washing to preserve the longevity and clarity of your pieces. Our metalware is not dishwasher safe. If you have questions about a specific item please contact us.
Are all pieces made by hand?
Many works involve hand-finished or artisan-led production processes. Slight variations in shape, color, and size are inherent to the making process and considered part of each piece's character.
Are your pieces limited edition?
Select collectible works are produced in limited quantities or made to order. Availability may vary by collection.
Do you restock sold out items?
Certain core collections may return periodically, while others remain limited or seasonal. Please sign up for restock notifications on individual product pages.
What's the lead time for collectibles?
Please allow approximately 4–6 weeks for collectible pieces, as many are produced to order and crafted by hand.
How long will it take for my order to ship?
For homeware orders, please allow 1–2 business days for your order to process. You will receive an email once your order has shipped. If you do not receive a shipping confirmation within 3–5 business days of placing your order, please reach out to us.
Collectible and made-to-order pieces have longer lead times — please allow approximately 4–6 weeks for these items, as noted on individual product listing pages. If you have questions about the availability or lead time of a specific piece, please contact us before placing your order.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship internationally to most destinations. Shipping rates and timelines are calculated at checkout. International customers are responsible for duties and taxes associated with delivery.
How should I handle fragile items upon delivery?
Please inspect all shipments upon arrival and contact us within 48 hours if damage has occurred in transit. Packaging should be retained for claims processing.
Can I exchange an item?
We do not offer exchanges at this time. We are happy to facilitate a return and process your refund quickly so you can purchase a different item.
How do I make a return?
We accept returns within 7 days of receipt in original packaging. To initiate a return, please contact web@sophieloujacobsen.com within seven days of receiving your purchase. We will provide a return shipping label via Shopify — please note that the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
How should I care for my glassware?
We recommend gentle hand washing to preserve the longevity and clarity of your pieces. Additional care instructions may accompany select products. We recommend reading through each product page for specific instructions on how to care for your glassware.
Do you offer trade pricing?

Are products available for wholesale?
